#DYK there is now a record number of women MPs in the House of Commons?
This week on our blog @graceheaton93 looked back at an earlier #HistParl event where we reflected on the experience of women in Parliament before & after the '97 #GeneralElection.👇

This was a brilliant event to be part! As discussed here, a record-breaking number of female MPs were elected earlier this month, now sitting at just over 40 percent (up from 18% in 1997; 22% in 2010; and 34% in 2019).

In March #HistParl hosted an event exploring women's experiences of parliament since 1997, drawing on interviews from our #oralhistory project. @graceheaton93 reflects on the event and what the new cohort of female MPs could learn from their predecessors: ow.ly/bX0450SyWg2
