🔥Hot off the press in @PMRJournal & timely with #Match2023 🔥 We looked at gender, race/ethnicity trends of applicants from 6 match cycles 2014-2020 & compared with PM&R. 1/ So much data... URiM were less represented as residents than applicants. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/pm…

According to NRMP data for the 2022-2023 cycle, there were a total of 531 PM&R spots (PGY1 + PGY2) of which 529 were filled before the SOAP (99.6%). And per ERAS data from this cycle, there were a total of 1,092 students applying for the 531 spots (48.6%) 🤯 #Match2023 #Physiatry

When I asked my patient, “What meds do you take?” she showed me this. She had a ‘current meds’ bundle and a ‘no longer taking’ bundle. She wrote notes like “blood sugar” or “blood pressure" on each card. I asked to share her brilliant idea and she said, ‘absolutely!' #MedTwitter

last year, in the midst of my own match anxiety, i did a simplified recap on instagram on the phrase “the algorithm favors the applicant”. we hear it all the time but what does it mean? thought i might re-post it to twitter #match2023 1/x

Since approximately half of adults are not aware that there’s an updated COVID-19 booster this is a reminder that anyone 12 and above can get an additional booster 2 months after their last dose and up to 3 months after their previous infection. This will help going into winter.
