According to Christer Björkman, the EBU is facing financial problems due to the withdrawal of 5 countries to participate in #Eurovision 2026. The returning countries aren’t covering the expenses. It is expected that from next year the membership fee for broadcasters will be increased.

I have a plan that could save Eurovision but the EBU may not like it:
1) Ban Israel from Eurovision.
2) Stop working with Moroccan Oil as the sponsor.
3) Get a some European brands to sponsor the contest
4) Watch countries return because Israel left
5) Enjoy a new era.

This is WHY Eurovision is dying.
If Israel doesn't get banned, EBU will have to increase the participation fees. Which could result in many smaller countries to withdraw.
And there goes the Eurovision Song Contest.

Here’s the bit from today’s episode. Christer is saying that 🇪🇸 absence has a negative impact on the EBU, that it’s set to increase costs for next year’s competition and when Melanie Wehbe asks if the returning countries are a good enough compensation he says no.
