This book is a keeper. Among the best I’ve read this year. Look forward to the conversation — sure to be hilarious.

Two years later a lot in my life has changed as my ALS has progressed. One thing, however, has not changed: I still wake up every day believing that we can win this fight against ALS. So I hope you are still hopeful too @BarackObama. Happy 4th all.
Barack Obama@BarackObama

A story worth sharing: Twelve years ago, Brian joined my first presidential campaign. Two years ago, he was diagnosed with ALS and launched @iamalsorg to find a cure. Brian and Sandra wake up every day believing that we can win this fight—and that makes me hopeful, too.

My wish is for everyone to see and humanize these women. They were working so hard to survive and provide for their families and loved ones. They were someone’s mother or aunt or daughter or niece....and loved. It breaks me that we have to ask for others to see us as human.

After 1865, Jefferson Davis and his collaborators were never subjected to serious justice after leading the insurrection of the Civil War, and one of the ultimate results was the institutionalized racism of the next 155 years.
