Just as almost everything in life, black women need to work twice as hard, and be twice as loud in this industry :(
There are so so so so many amazing black women that don’t often get recognition outside our own communities. I feel in this space black women creators support each other, we advocate for each other but then when you get outside that sphere… I can’t say the same for other streamers.
And do they “have too” no. They don’t. But after years of being on this platform I’ve seen others advocating creators all the time. And sometimes it’s a numbers game. But black women have never and will never just organically reach the support that other women may, and it’s NOT because we aren’t working hard or not entertaining. It’s just racism 🤷🏽♀️ and misogyny 🤷🏽♀️ look at what happens when a game comes out with a female lead, let alone a black lead, and then a black female lead 💀 The gaming industry hates it, mocks it. This is an industry severely built against black women. We are swimming up stream making our content and making spaces for ourselves here.
Now I’m talking strictly in the gaming industry. There is disparity in who supports women, and who supports black women. Intersectionality my friends. But for my black women out there who are trying their best, and doing their thing. You got this. Keep going, keep creating 🤍
We are so excited to officially announce the Alveus Breeding & Recovery Center!
We’ll be expanding to accommodate for Mexican Gray wolves and Red wolves over the next year.
We can’t thank you all enough for all the support to get us to this point 💚
