@BBCScotlandNews chaos at #glasgowairport security. Apparently the airport is “at capacity” and can’t accept any more passengers. Staff rushing around now so seems something else is going on.

@ruth_wishart @BBCNews SO events in 1990 and 2005 were not World Games, currently taking place in Berlin. WG have never been held in Britain. Issue is that huge numbers of Scottish SO athletes denied the opportunity to take part again due to regions withdrawing from SOGB.

Correction. It was the 1990 Special Olympics where I was honoured to be on the board. We had a second one, again in Glasgow, in 2005. Wouldn't mind a correction from you too @BBCNews.

@EamonnONeill @ruth_wishart SO European Summer Games that was held in Glasgow in 1990. SO World Games have indeed never been held in Britain. More importantly will likely never be held in Scotland again since Scottish regions have withdrawn from SO organisation which IMO is a travesty.

I remember attending the opening ceremony in Celtic Park and seeing celebs including Don Johnson etc. Also marvelled up close at Eunice Kennedy's Shriver's resemblance - in voice and profile - to her late brother, President JFK.

@ukiswitheu That is a bare-faced lie. Portugal have not given UK citizens access to their e gate. I went straight through with my Irish passport, my son had to queue with non-EU citizens.
