Noriyoshi Ohrai (1935–2015) was one of Japan’s most important and prolific illustrators, renowned for his realistic, epic, and dynamic style, perfectly suited to science fiction, fantasy, and kaiju themes. Throughout his career he produced more than 1,300 works, including book covers, film posters, promotional art, and video game illustrations. His work is defined by monumental compositions, strong drama, and a masterful sense of scale, turning many of his illustrations into iconic images in their own right. 🎨🚀 He achieved international recognition thanks to the poster for Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, commissioned personally by George Lucas, and became a key figure in the visual identity of the Godzilla saga for decades.
