Sell and buy a cheaper house outside the suburbs for the super wealthy if you can't pay the rates. I live in a middle class suburb of Cape Town. I'm not a DA voter, but I'm satisfied that I get good services for my rates and happy that some of it is used for poorer areas

This is the problem with how we do accountability in politics.
The facts are crystal clear, then the legal system comes in and turns it into a vibes contest.
When a case like that gets tossed, half the country hears "totally innocent" and the other half hears "the system is rigged."
Truth is, dismissals and convictions both live in a gray space where power, money, and procedure often matter more than basic fairness.
If we do not demand one standard for everyone, no matter the party, the law turns into a ref dressed in team colors.
People can argue the legal technicalities all day, but the public memory of that call is not going anywhere.
Courts rule on what they can prove.
History judges what actually happened.
