The 2026 Michael Clegg Memorial Birdrace took place this weekend with over 25 teams taking part despite the freezing weather. This year we are helping Yorkshire Swifts and if you'd like to donate please follow the link.

Tomorrow is likely to be the most gruelling Michael Clegg bird race that I will have ever done with minus temps, strong winds and potential for snow/rain! Starting on the Humber bank at Welwick at dawn and then ending at Spurn in the evening, with all ground covered by walking.

Wintersett - nice vismig morning- Pink footed Goose 2185 east in 34 skeins, Whooper Swan 7 onto Anglers CP, both giving a winter feel but a Wood Sand low over us calling showed autumn's still got plenty to give. Also Hobby 2 and Mippit 318 south. @Barnsleybsg @BirdGuides
