Even his nervousness to start the conversation… like Eddie is never one to fidget over starting an apology (i.e. “heard some dick was being mean to you”). But NOW he’s anxious cuz he has to approach this differently and delicately.

Eddie in the kitchen apologizing for second guessing Buck’s healing and saying “you seem good!” and “I was worried the man I knew didn’t make it out of New Mexico” even though Eddie KNOWS something is wrong with Buck. He was saying that to open the door for Buck to be honest and start the conversation they need to have. Like “hey I’m not gonna say I told you so if you’re method of healing isn’t working and you’re actually not okay! You act like you’re fine but I know you aren’t, but I’m not gonna push. You can tell me! I’m here.”
