@GrahamSpiers Hearts fans will be disappointed there is no controversy other than the pitch invasion. SFA needs to ensure this is dealt with through the courts in future by helping get the law changed in Scotland.

So we can now say - which we haven’t been able to say openly for days - that Derek McInnes told match officials he wanted Celtic v Hearts ended the moment Celtic went 3-1 up and fans invaded the pitch.

What a career John McGinn has had and done it the right way . 100 games for St Mirren, over 100 for Hibs, joins Villa in Championship and played nearly 400 games and now a Europa League winner . Sensible pathway and we need to see more young Scottish players do this . . . ❤️

@scotball_ It is not concerning. It is part of his development. He will have told Scotland what is happening and Scotland will have said do it as a great learning opportunity. A no story.

This is concerning, Caelan Cadamarteri has been shining for Scotland at youth level. Even if he does feature for Jamaica in the Unity Cup, these matches count as friendlies so he will remain eligible to represent Scotland at senior level. He’s a big prospect for the future.

@scotball_ Dykes and Adams are the certainties. Both play the majority of minutes. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Shankland miss out due to his inability to move. He was player of the year not long ago and yet no one offered a contract. Better Scotland players are playing in better leagues.

The Lyndon Dykes Question: Does Dykes still deserve a World Cup place? Disclaimer: I love Lyndon Dykes. It's easy to forget what he has done for Scotland: Leading the line like a warrior in Belgrade to help us qualify for Euro 2020, the winners in the Faroes and Norway, fighting for the shirt every time he takes to the pitch. However, his lack of form ahead of the World Cup is stark. Dykes scored five league goals in 41 Championship appearances for Birmingham and Charlton in the season just completed. These numbers stand in contrast to a number of other Scottish strikers of a similar physical profile: (2025/26 league goals): • Oli McBurnie: 17 • Kieron Bowie: 12 • George Hirst: 11 • Ross Stewart: 8 Dykes also has just one goal in his last 21 Scotland caps. His game isn't all about goals, Dykes has proven his ability to lead the line effectively for Scotland over the years. He is brilliant in the air and can be adept at bringing our midfield talent into play. However, these are attributes which the likes of McBurnie, Bowie, Hirst and Stewart also possess. I think team spirit was a major factor in Scotland's ability to qualify for this World Cup, with Dykes at the centre of this, but at what point can loyalty hold us back from maximising our chances of success? I fully expect Dykes to be selected and I will back him to the hilt in the States, but if the squad selection were a meritocracy, he wouldn't be included. For me, Lawrence Shankland in particular is a lock for the squad, and I also believe Ché Adams' mobility and all-round game makes him stand out.
