I am new here and and sharing my story about my 11 year old boxer/Rottweiler mix who was 11 named Bruin. This past Sunday morning stared out as usual. Bruin nudging me in bed to get up and feed him. He ate, went for his walk and had a bowl of water. While I'm folding the laundry I hear a loud thump. I really didn't think much of it because Bruin always throws himself to the floor to lay down. My 6 year old turned the corner and yelled mama something is wrong with Bruin! I went over to him and couldn't get up and was breathing so heavy and wet himself and pooped. I tried so hard to get him up...I screamed for my oldest son to call his dad home. My husband and I rushed him to the vets. I think he drove like 90 while I layed in the back with Bruin begging him to be ok. The vet rushed him right in and soon called us into a big room which wasn't an exam room. He had a massive tumor rupture on his spleen and there was alot of internal bleeding along with many other masses in his stomach. He was suffering. The vet reassured us that this is sudden and we did everything we could. I layed with him as he took his last breath and the vet said his heart has stopped. I said so has mine! Everyone who knows me knows that Bruin was my baby! I'd give anything for one last tug of War, him grabbing my slippers. He'd hear us laugh and get in on the action and pull at your clothes. Loved when I dried my hair for me to point the hair dryer at him. His loud bark, him jumping off all 4 paws for no reason and every reason. He was such a handful but my handful. Maybe I subconsciously knew and that's why I bought him ice cream last night and called him up on the couch. He showed no signs of being sick! He even jumped on me that morning. He was himself, no sign of sickness! He was even off the wall that morning! This was so fast and sudden. I'm going to miss him beyond words and everything triggers me and hurts. I'm just waiting to his his big beautiful face come charging at me 😭💔 those that ask if I'm ok the answer is no, a big piece of me died with him today. Rest easy Bruin 💔 Credit : Heather Dyer Bulman
