While we unfortunately had to cancel our planned events for Green Seattle Day over the weekend, we're excited to announce that we are coordinating with folks to host a re-do of Green Seattle Day! Stay tuned for more details and event locations.

A recent workshop about plant management from our Forest Stewards! Forest Stewards adopt a site to work on their own and with their community to help restore our urban forests.

Exciting news that Seattle has been selected to join the @UNEP’s #GenerationRestoration initiative as a role model city for our urban forest regeneration efforts with @greenseattle! We remain committed to restoring and preserving our forested parklands. harrell.seattle.gov/2023/10/31/sea…

While we are heartbroken that Green Seattle Day will not take place on 11/4, your safety is our top priority. We encourage you to keep an eye out for future planting events through the CEDAR volunteer page and we hope to celebrate with you soon!

Seward Park Audubon Center's lead naturalist, Ed Dominguez will introduce us to the concept of heat islands and how they impact urban areas like Seattle. We'll also discuss how researchers will track hazardous heat across the city and mitigate the harm to our residents.
