NYC Emergency Management
NYC Emergency Management@nycemergencymgt·
Did you know parts of NYC saw more than 6.5 inches of rain on July 31, causing widespread flash flooding across multiple neighborhoods. If you are a tenant, property owner, business, or nonprofit that experienced damage, NYC Emergency Management urges you to take two separate but essential steps to support the recovery process: 1️⃣ Submit a damage report at reportdamage.nyc.gov.
This survey helps government understand how many buildings were affected and how severe the impacts were. Your report may support efforts to determine whether the city qualifies for federal disaster recovery programs. This is not an application for aid and does not replace an insurance claim. It is for damage assessment and planning only. 2️⃣ Request City services at nyc.gov/311 or by calling 311.
If you need help with flooding, sewer backups, water damage, fallen trees, blocked drains, structural concerns, or other storm-related issues, file a 311 service request so agencies can respond. 📞 Call 911 if you are in immediate danger or need life-saving assistance. Help the city assess the impact of the storm. Submitting both a damage report and a service request ensures your situation is documented and addressed. To stay informed, sign up for emergency updates at nyc.gov/notifynyc and monitor official city channels.
