@silk_lilac @oliverburdick That's where semantics gets in our way. Some would say that if a man feels lust toward another man, he's gay. That stuff gets imprinted on a person's brain, especially things that happened in childhood. Such people cannot "stop being gay" by that definition.

@greg_hahn @oliverburdick Letting go of it relieves the struggle completely. Ask anyone who stopped being gay because they felt convicted, and it made their life infinitely better.

There is no such thing as a gay Christian. God and sexual sin do not belong together.

@JaredCBurt It’s a terrible 2 part question. The first part is true. The second part needs context. Anthropomorphic language should not be taken literal. The error of univocity has lead to hard open theism and soft open theism (Provisionalism).

Hey Brother Pastor, telling men to leave cheating wives while telling women to fast, pray, and stay with cheating husbands is a bunch of crap. Men are not polygamous by nature, they are polygamous by sin. God created man in His image, not Satan’s.

Women need to understand that men aren’t mind readers. Did you use your big girl communication skills and tell him what you wanted for Mother’s Day? Or even give him a few options to choose from if you wanted to be surprised? Not everyone’s love language is gifts or acts of service so if you don’t let him know what makes you feel loved, you can’t blame him when he doesn’t do those things. SMH 🤦‍♀️ Also, do you know what makes him feel loved, and do you do any of those things for him on Father’s Day? What about his birthday? Maybe grow up and learn to communicate with your husband instead of complaining online to strangers. A good rule of thumb to live by in your marriage is to keep complaints and issues within your marriage—just between you and your husband.

I hope my husband had a very uncomfortable day at work today. I hope all of his female coworkers asked what he did for me for Mother’s Day. And I hope he had to tell them the truth. Nothing. No flowers. No card. No breakfast. No last-minute grocery store bouquet grabbed on the way home. Nothing at all. Meanwhile, I am the mother of his children. The same children I carried, delivered, and continue to keep alive on a daily basis. I didn’t even want anything extravagant. A handwritten card, a cup of coffee, or somebody else loading the dishwasher would have been enough. Instead, the day came and went like it was a random Tuesday. @DavidFischer Yes, I read the Bible at least 3 times a day. Normally I read NRSV or LSB. Sometimes I read ESV, CEB, NASB, CSB, or NKJV. I may read any of the current popular translations other than the KJV or NLT.

@DavidFischer The standard answer everyone has been taught to say is John, and all the parrots will say that. But if the new believer is being taught Christian doctrine in a church, they should start with Psalms, and read it every day for.the rest of their lives.
