Classic Keir Starmer - condemns Iran while ignoring Israel’s strike on the world’s largest gas field at South Pars, which triggered the escalation. What a pathetic excuse of a Prime Minister.
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer

I condemn in the strongest terms the overnight Iranian strike on a Qatari gas facility. We are working towards a swift resolution to the situation in the Middle East, in the best interests of the British people – because there is no question that ending the war is the quickest way to reduce the cost of living.

@johnloeber And if the Adobe acquisition was green-lit, I'd bet my bottom dollar on edit requests being auto-granted and then those users would be charged an early cancellation fee 😂

It's a core part of my workflow for Conversion Rate Optimization (I don't design with it, but I brief a lot of AB tests for Figma to be leveraged by a human), but any serious brand simply cannot afford for Stitch, Claude Code or any other vibe-coding intermediary to get their assets or brand wrong Plenty of solo users might churn, but I would imagine big agencies or in-house teams would waste a huge amount of time correcting the really dumb stuff with the vibe tools - Figma's death is greatly exaggerated IMO

I feel sorry for Figma. They pulled off a generational feat, maybe the best and most admirable of its era: 4-5 years of pre-launch toil on fundamental technology, using that to launch a highly disruptive product, doing what previously was unimaginable, creating one of the few truly good pieces of software of its time. But as so often, things get good just before the end: right now Figma is looking like a fitting capstone to the pre-AI software era.
Sheel Mohnot@pitdesi

Figma got crushed on this one :/ Anecdotally seeing more companies task design work to the product team already.

@steilgaard @itsjojoduke1 @LouisDavidPH Yeah but this made it sound like $800k ARR rather than lifetime rev which is what made me do a double-take - if it was doing $180,000 p/a then $400k exit would make sense

1.5 years of uni 12 failed apps 0 job offers All while my classmates were getting promotions at companies I couldn't even get interviews for. Dropped out at 21. Spent 3 years reselling sneakers, doing Upwork gigs, and building apps from my childhood bedroom that nobody used. Watched people with less drive get funded, hired, and celebrated because they fit the mold. But I was shipping one failed app after another. Until one finally hit. 2M users. $800K revenue. $150K exit at 24. The system isn't built for people who don't follow the path. Use that as fuel.

5 Ivy League applications 100 job applications 4 YC applications All rejections, not even an interview. Never had a job. 6+ years of selling vapes, driving DoorDash, tutoring, and taking tests for other students. I watched as students with 1/100th of my drive were handed opportunities because they could play the part. Quietly built skills and accumulated knowledge. No recognition or feedback from anybody. Until it finally paid off. The entire system is rigged against the misfits. Use it as fuel.

To match the pensions benefits a primary school teacher accrues during their working life, Grok estimates you'd need a private pension pot of around £1 million. The % of private pension pots that ever reach this figure? Around 3%. The state is unsustainable.

The problem with two men going at one another is that it is often at the expense of women. In this incident- Piers' wife. He walks off in disgust, as he should. But I can't help feeling he will now know EXACTLY the hurt he caused Prince Harry when he attacked Meghan.

@gregpower @brumbitcoin A very good one, compared to vast numbers of private sector people. And insane quantities of vacation, during which they can earn yet more. The public sector in make me think of people stranded on a desert island arguing that they deserve more beef and red wine.

RICHARD HAMMOND'S £2M BACHELOR MANSION SPLASH! TOP GEAR LEGEND GOES FULL SINGLE AFTER DEVASTATING DIVORCE Richard Hammond has snapped up a stunning six-bedroom Georgian manor house for £1.99m cash (below asking price) complete with tennis court, wine cellar, supercar outbuildings and private boating lake. The purchase comes months after his split from wife Mindy of 23 years (28 together), calling it part of his brutal "year from hell" following his dad's death and the end of The Grand Tour. He's knee-deep in renovations with scaffolding everywhere and happily settling into single life. Bachelor pad unlocked!

Not specifically this concert but this era absolutely terrified the elite, government, institutions etc. This was around the same time you had films like Fight Club, American History X etc come out. Emo came after with Scene somewhat overlapping a couple of years in. Then things started “turning gay” around 2014 when the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013 came into force. Once same sex marriage became law, organisations like Stonewall had to find something else to profit off of so that’s when trans started getting pushed way more and this is partly how we got into this mess - or at least with the LGBTQ+ stuff.
Moongazer@joeybeastmarket

My biggest conspiracy theory is after this concert every sovereign nation on the planet simultaneously recognized how easily they could be overthrown so they made everything gay and retarded and full of third worlders

I’m proud of our tolerant and diverse country. I’m proud that in Trafalgar Square we celebrate all faiths. That’s British values. The comments from Nick Timothy are shameful. Kemi Badenoch should do the right thing and sack him.
