Yup outside of his 1st album which is 4 mics to ME the rest of his discography is 3-3.5 for me. Good albums with some dope ass songs here and there but to me when A dropped I thought 30 years later he'd have MULTIPLE classic albums & to ME he has none smdh.

It’s time for a theatrical Little Richard biopic. This was supposed to be NBC’s next big mini-series in the 90s. It felt like nobody watched it at the time tho. And I rarely hear it talked about today.

After huge ratings for The Jacksons and The Temptations mini-series, NBC aired this Robert Townsend-directed TV movie about Little Richard. I need to rewatch it and give it a contemporary appraisal. But at the time, I remember feeling like Leon was very miscast in the role.

It became sorta trendy on here to shit on “Thriller.” It became the calculated, crossover “pop” album to “Off The Wall” as the more “authentic” R&B album. I thought that was bullshit and wanted to celebrate the genius and why it is the biggest album ever

@gregsimmsjr @LadePlatinum Terry and his guys put it all together. The missing piece was they shortened song structure to more closely resemble Hip-Hop (short loops). That subconsciously hooked young listeners. Jimmy, Terry (and LA and Face) were mostly still writing songs with the older, fuller structure.
