500 Days Sober.
Today marks 500 days without a drink. No meetings. No programs. No group therapy. Just me—doing the work, facing the hard truths, and taking full responsibility for my life.
Sobriety is deeply personal. Everyone has to take their own journey. For me, it wasn’t about steps or slogans—it was about deciding, every single day, that I wanted something better for myself. And holding myself accountable for it.
No one could do it for me. No amount of advice, encouragement, or support could make the change stick unless I was ready to own it—fully and honestly.
If you’re on your own path, know this: You have the strength. You can do it. But it starts with a decision—and that decision has to come from you. No one else.
It’s your journey and not anyone else. A group may be the way you want to start but always remember that you are in charge
Also, don’t act differently when you see me at a bar or the rare times that I am out and you’re drinking. i am not on a crusade, I just understood that alcohol and myself aren’t friends and we never were

@FSUBaseball started wearing green hats on #SaintPatricksDay in the late 80’s. Chip Baker thinks it was 11’s idea or EQ Manager, Guy Gallagher’s idea. Guy (now with the Angels) says he thinks it was Chip or Martin that just thought it would just “be cool” to wear green hats.
In 1993 Chip says he got a call from the AD and he wanted “82 hats” for @FSUFootball before heading to ND for the “Game of the Century”. @espn showed footage of the Noles touring the ND campus while wearing the green hats and that is where the Green FSU baseball hats really took off. 93 was also the first year that the hats were available for sale. The first hats were only available in adjustable and were not available in fitted sizes at that point.
I don’t know how many NCAA or MLB teams did green back then but it wasn’t as many as do it now and I feel that 11, Chip or Guy started a great tradition just because they thought it would “be cool” -Greg Tish
