@CryptoUgluuk With experienced teams that know what they're doing, it's fine. But the KOLs who got these deals go on and got other deals from above shitcoins. And people find out about this and start to doubt them and possible good projects they're involved also affected by this

What people call it vs what it is are two different things. OTC is a powerful tool and serious teams use it the right way. Team tokens is their runway longterm and in no way do they give them out without fighting for them. The lower the price is, the more tokens they have to sell. Bad for the business

OTC threads looks like some woke bullshit campaigns these days. Hate on it, spread fear and hunt people and projects who has done it. OTC is the devil! I have done OTC since 2017, mostly as a community member. Directly from miners in discord, community exchanges, big holders or straight from teams. Over the years i have come across many unknown projects very few talk about but ran into issues when i want to buy: 🛑Shit exchanges i dont wanna give personal details 🛑There is no established safe community OTC 🛑Liquidity is so low that small buys push it 20% Then i contact the team and ask if they want OTC. This is something many community members do aswell so nothing unique. In most deals i have done the discount is 10-15%, not more than what a few red days give. But why do teams sell tokens OTC? Marketing is expensive and teams have to spread their funds over months with ads, articles, youtube and threads. In other words, paying ALOT for low level marketing that has ZERO effect longterm. They have team tokens ment for things like marketing that means they need to market sell to be able to do a big push. Not a good solution and we all agree on that. But there is a better option: Fundraising with team tokens through OTC deals Kol`s/partners buy at discount with cliff and vesting. In return they use their network to arrange partnerships, help out with community management, marketing, content creation, cheaper exchange listings and so on. If you dont work, you get cancelled. Ok, the deal is signed and what are the immediate benefits you may ask? ⚙️Team token holdings get reduced (less team fud) ⚙️They have a marketing/advisory group assembled ⚙️They have money for other critical operations Instead of paying kols for marketing the kols paid the team. So influencer marketing is sorted. The team can now focus on other area`s that need attention. They can appoint more team members to accelerate development. They can increase liquidity on exchanges. They can hire market makers. They can run their own marketing campaign alongside the kol group. The list is long and these deals are very positive for the community aswell. What amuses me is that when looking in different communities i see the same people who hate on OTC deals DEMAND the team to do something. DEV DO SOMETHING! WHEN MARKETING! WHEN BUYBACK! WHY DO THE TEAM HOLD SO MANY TOKENS! PRICE IS DOWN, WE DYING HERE OTC deals give the community alot of their wishes granted, but they still choose to hate on it which just highlights how retarded the space is.

@CryptoUgluuk I agree that it's a presale. But they call it OTC for marketing and dump on people when it's launched with huge unlocks. And I think that's one of reasons with the recent hate on "marketing" OTC deals. Otherwise OTC deals with good unlock schedule is part of the game for a while

But that is not an OTC deal, what you describe is a presale or inside launch. OTC deal is often with an older projects who got team tokens in reserve for development, marketing etc but the market is not liquid enough for them to sell on exchange. That would upset the community who feel the team dump on them. So they sell directly to loyal community members, partners, kol`s etc

@CryptoUgluuk I didn't lose any money, just the limit sell order executed before the target. But I'll let the team know so if there is an issue, they should look into it.

Tokenomics. Crypto twitter throws this word around a lot but never explains it except "DYOR". What's the secret that OGs and projects don’t want you to know? And wish you'd never find out as a newbie? Here’s a simple guide to tokenomics for beginners.
