Spectacular 'bad science' in BMC Endocrine Disorders. 10 variables 3 models 4 comparisons=120 p-values but authors focused on 2 values<0.05. All respect to reviewer 1 for pointing out errors bmcendocrdisord.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11… but shame on R2 & the greedy journal. Unhelpful rubbish!

It's all kicking off in the Commons as Jacob Rees-Mogg accuses fellow Tory MP Richard Graham of never having accepted the result of the Brexit referendum. Graham made point of order objecting to that characterisation.

having a name that takes longer to pronounce is associated with a significantly lower likelihood of being placed into an academic job or obtaining a tenure track position & an initial placement at an institution with lower research productivity; econ papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…

@isitbacarditime @CMO_England Surely vulnerable adults should simply adhere to the current guidance provided for them - it makes no difference if you risk infection from a child or an adult.

@CMO_England Keep seeing this, but u won't answer the question about those with family members who are clinically vulnerable. Nothing is said about us, our risk & schools are not given guidence for us, my kids will be in bubbles with those not socially distancing... Just answer the question.

Sensible, logical & brave guidance. We cannot sacrifice children's education 'just in case' they get ill. The 20 deaths registered in under 19s are all tragic but three times that many children drown each year; life is risky: manage.

@bengoldacre Who voted? Was it the same people who spell the verb ‘practice’ say ‘expresso’ and use ‘octopi’ as a plural.

I actually read 50 confusing pages of Borisisms twitter.com/i/events/12598… -learnt that Tennis and Angling are 'OK' now Question is then why lock them down to begin? what else could we be doing - risk of infection listed

@bengoldacre If HS2 stopped one mile short of the proposed destination It would save enough cash to build a cycle lane along every major road in the country (& help us to avoid Birmingham)

REJECTION LETTER from Peer reviewed Journal confirms authors’ beliefs; ‘Papers should not be a non-finding & should not show that a program studied does not work’ honestly?

“GROWING OBESITY CRISIS” Factcheck! BMI falls in summer holidays already- but...Schools could really help maintain activity levels and improve health that way
LondonSEPriPEHWB@LondonPehwb

Schools should be kept open all summer, running sports clubs, in a bid to tackle Britain's growing obesity crisis: telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/07/1… Maybe @educationgovuk needs to make it mandatory for a % of #PEPremium grant to be allotted for the staging of such provision=all costs met
