@colmtuite What bothers me more is the different approach to "internal padding" in the icon frame. These 3 icons are all "24px" from 3 very popular icon sets: @streamlinehq , @_phosphoricons , @theiconicapp

Most UI icons are 16px or 20px. Why are most icon libs so enormous?

@Shpigford I’m so sorry that happened. It’s freelancers like this that give freelancing a bad name. I’m an icon designer who specializes in creating really large icon libraries and using automation to keep things tidy and organized. Maybe my skillset can help? griffdesigns.com

tl;dr We paid a designer ~$70,000 to create some 14,000 stock market icons for us (think AAPL, VTI, SPY, etc). We've only received ~1,500 of them and he's now ghosting us. Buckle up...here's how that played out and where we're at now...

What are the repercussions of these AI features at #Config2024 ? Is it making design easier for designers? Or is it just taking their jobs?

@MorePerfectUS What's hilarious is that literally every executive in this video was superimposed in the office environment. They were probably recording these from their home office.

The parent company of WebMD made an unbelievably bad video telling workers to come back to the office. Bob Brisco, CEO of Internet Brands, says, "We aren't asking or negotiating at this point." And somehow that's not even the worst part.

@srioz I also think the map might be ignoring Spanish too because there’s no way that Chinese is more common than Chinese in California.

I didn’t know there are so many german speakers in the states.

Personally I don’t do this but if you’re getting started in the freelance game, this is very very helpful. Nick is sharing a fantastic resource.

Not winning big freelance design jobs? Time to rethink your proposals. To secure five or six figure jobs, your secret weapon is a highly visual, custom proposal that shows deep thinking. Steal my template. 🧵

I'm personally offended. I generally despise M*sk and everything he's done to Twitter, but this is just ridiculous. The new Twitter home icon that @avstorm and @srioz designed was nothing short of perfect. This one is a hideous insult to design. Not even symmetrical.
