Hey everyone around the world 👋 Japan has a famously stinky food called **Kusaya** (くさや). It’s a dried fish that’s been fermented, and it has an incredibly strong, pungent smell. Some people say it smells like a mix of old socks, ammonia, and the ocean… but many Japanese people love it with rice and sake. It’s one of those “love it or hate it” foods. So here’s my question to all of you: What is the smelliest (but still delicious) food in your country? Every country seems to have at least one crazy-smelling food that locals love but foreigners often can’t handle. Drop your country’s most notorious smelly food below 👇 I really want to know! (And if you’ve tried Kusaya, let me know what you thought 😂)

To all my foreign friends who think we’re weird for this: When Japanese people finish cooking rice in a rice cooker, the very first thing we do is… stir it vigorously with a rice paddle. Foreigners: “Wait… you actually MIX the rice right after it’s done?!” Yes. And there’s a very good reason. Stirring (or “fluffing”) releases the trapped steam so the rice doesn’t get soggy. It also evens out the temperature so every grain is perfectly cooked — no hard top and mushy bottom. It’s not just a random habit. It’s the secret to getting that light, fluffy, restaurant-quality Japanese rice texture. We don’t do it because we’re OCD. We do it because we take our rice very seriously 😂 So… do you stir your rice after cooking, or do you just leave it? Tell me your country’s rice etiquette. I’m genuinely curious!

@Brutalnoobi I was going to go $15. Im noodling on doing $12 with sales at $8, I value the work ive done but I also want to generate engagement particularly for the first game so Im likely to sand a few edges off the price for this one.

Stop underestimating the price of your indie games... If people buy your game at $5, they’ll also buy it at $15. If you spend more than a year making a game, have some respect for yourselves and for the rest of the industry. #indiegame #indiegamedev #indiedev #solodev

It’s upsetting to watch so many people be led to believe a software feature created from human exhaust is an alien intelligence. It’s a psyop. LLMs are a clever way to compress and search large databases with patterns. They have now inhaled effectively all of human knowledge. From this point, there will be spikes of improvement in narrow areas, but the big models are already collapsing from inhaling their own exhaust. The core technology is at least 40 years old. Neural networks are nothing new. We’re just attaching obscene amounts of computing and data to them. The physical nature of an LLM is literally just a database of tokens (word parts) and weights (relationships) that can be queried. It is not magic. It can be made deterministic by setting the entropy aka temperature to zero. It is a clever way to store an immense amount of data and retrieve it through token predicting. “Agents” are just LLMs being queried in a loop. They take exponentially more energy and suffer the same problems as chatbots—hallucinations and sycophancy—but exponentially more complicated to solve. In reality, it’s all a category error. It’s a mirage created by the desire of a small group of elites to build a technological and financial moat around themselves. “AGI” is the McGuffin, the plot device, to serve as the messiah that will deliver people from the toils of everyday life. The broligarchs are trying to sell us our own replacements. According to them, we won’t have to drive, or work, or think anymore. The robots and AI will all do it for us. It’s the oldest con there is: magic beans. Your chatbot is not your Jesus or your girlfriend. Your Claude instance is not intelligent. It’s a search engine for human knowledge stolen from the internet and the destruction of physical books. So please understand. You are witnessing the biggest financial bubble in all of human history based on deceptive marketing, astroturfing, and cult dynamics. You are not witnessing the birth of a new intelligence. Unfortunately, that’s a battle we’re losing.

All this gibble gabble about Nolan’s Odyssey and NO ONE can see the objectively correct solution. Muppet Odyssey. Everyone would love it. Helen of Troy could be green or blue … or a pig … and no one would care. It’s perfect. All we need is to pick out the token real human. It’s your call …

I can’t stop crying. Another temple burned. Another temple burned. Another temple burned. When this happens this many times, can we really still call it a natural fire? Who did this? Who burned it?

Just got done with Absolute Green Arrow #1. The most powerful moment in it is easily Dinah's inner dialogue when she asks herself in reference to the billionaires she protects, "Are these our options now? Ignore the monsters we work for... or throw watch parties for their executions?" It's an elegant expression of a tension a lot of people in the United States feel right now but don't always express well. It's also the least hamfisted political moment in the book. Take that for what you will. My main gripe lands on page 15, again in Dinah's inner dialogue, when in reference to the murdered billionaire she thinks, "All the body parts Jubal allegedly couldn't keep off underage women." You can call this genuflecting or virtue signaling, but given politics is downstream of culture, I'd really like to collectively retire the term "underage women." There are no underage women. There are just underage girls. That said, it's a good comic. Fast paced, fills in the plot hole for those who didn't read Absolute Evil #1, and @Ssnyder1835's Absolute line is still turning out absolute bangers (see what I did there?). Rafael Albuquerque is in top form. His deep pastel (reads like pastel work to me) shading gives a brooding seriousness to every panel, and I hope he stays on this book for as long as it remains a horror-first option. Because oh boy does his sensibility work in that context. My one craft note: stop force feeding the politics through inner monologue and show them in the story. Homelessness, addiction, disenfranchisement, these are all components you can stage without needing the book-long diatribe. For instance, maybe murder arrow lives in an underpass and has to witness street violence before you smash cut to him hacking some heads with those sick ass machetes in a billionaire's mansion. The scenery tells the story and provides the stakes, and Rafael is clearly capable of pulling that juxtaposition off. Also the unique only-works-in-comics weaponry is dope. As Dinah said, "Who fights like this?" No one, Ms. Dinah. No one. Lol. Overall, a strong start to a promising book.

Hate to break it to everyone but Vtuber orgies have been going on for MANY years at EVERY con. You’d be surprised the amount of Vtuber/Creator orgies at cons I’ve been invited to. My advice: don’t EVER go to one 👍🏻
