“There was a time during the last general elections in Nigeria when I received a clear word from the Lord concerning the outcome. Names, details everything! At that moment, even the current president had not yet publicly declared his intention to run. I shared what I had received only with those closest to me (all of them by God’s grace are still alive and here), and I chose not to make any public declaration for one primary reason: GOD INSTRUCTED ME NOT TO SPEAK ON IT AT ALL! Yet, despite that clear instruction, I still found a way to speak. In an attempt to navigate around divine restraint, I resorted to parables. I spoke of broomsticks being placed in the hands of many, of people dropping what they held to take up brooms instead. I didn’t say UMBRELLA, I SAID BROOM STICKS. I didn’t say “FAMILY”, I said “BROOMSTICKS”. That passionate moment is documented. There is video evidence. Looking back now, it remains a deep regret. I was right in what I saw, but wrong in what I did. The instruction was simple and unmistakable: “DO NOT COMMENT PUBLICLY”. And yet, I tried to outmaneuver divine guidance. That realization still weighs heavily on me. At this stage in my life, I find myself weary of giving prophetic words concerning Nigeria as a nation. Not because the words have been inaccurate. Quite the contrary. The burden lies in the consistency of their accuracy. I have been VERY ACCURATE. It is a difficult thing to continually see and say what people may interpret as doom. It is a label I do not desire, yet it seems inevitable. In this, I understand Jonah in a way I once did not. However, my concern for Nigeria remains unwavering. But my focus is shifting. I now feel led to turn my attention toward you, the individual. From time to time, I will share wisdom as it is given to me. Not merely about national outcomes, but about how you can navigate the coming 4 years and emerge stronger, wiser, and greater than you are now. Because ultimately, Nigeria will do well when her people do well. So, watch this space in the coming months. At times, I may speak in parables. At other times, with clarity and precision. But my commitment is this: to faithfully communicate what God says concerning how YOU can rise above the uncertainties ahead and come out greater than you entered, regardless of the challenges that may define the next four years. I will also speak about Nigeria, to my own unhappiness. If “prophet of doom” is the tag, then I WILL GLADLY BEAR IT. Posterity will be kind to me. I hope. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Amen!” - The Prophet Usen MJ
