This is disingenuous. The @NYCCouncil is proposing a budget that protects working families, quality of life & focuses on affordability, while cutting wasteful spending and finding new ways to raise revenue that doesn’t include raising property taxes and rent on hardworking NYers.

Dispensary availability pushed delivery dealers to diversify and drugs beyond weed. Which in turn exposed dealers to more legal risk and so there are just fewer quality street weed dealers. NYC dispensaries don’t have better quality control but they are more expensive

This is my sense, too, even in the upper echelons of academia. The problem is not parsing signs but knowing the referents. It is context collapse but also a massive crater in historical knowledge.

I see a little skepticism about this figure, but a couple of years ago I volunteered to read with 4th graders who were struggling in my kid's class once a month, and the interesting thing I found is they could all read the text out loud no problem - they just didn't understand it
