@canadianglen Thanks Einstein for your brilliant take on life…the more self important people make a big stink about me wanting to make my own decisions about joining something…the more I see what’s wrong with the party.
This should be a nothing burger and yet here you are, fighting this?
English

@grouchdiver if you think spending time discussing 3 dollars of 10 going east instead of how to fix AB is more important, go hard. not the time for this issue. internal issue that invokes navel-gazing, not ideas for a better AB.

Excellent column: “Leadership candidate Rakhi Pancholi has proposed disaffiliating the Alberta NDP from the federal party to deprive the province’s Conservatives of a talking point they’ll use anyway.” albertapolitics.ca/2024/02/rakhi-…
English

@prairiecentrist I would decline in any economic situation that I found myself in…
English

@tylermeredith She shouldn’t have been fired, in my opinion, and the minister is doing his job by showing off one of the many great things that Canada has to offer to the world.
English

One was an own goal issues management mistake.
The other is a tweet promoting a Canadian export on a trade mission.
You can justifiably argue the former wasn’t a firing offence. But it isn’t equivalent to the latter.

They destroyed conservative cabinet minister Bev Oda’s career over a $16 dollar glass of orange juice.
English

@canadianglen I am not going to be forced to go along with being a member of a political party that I don’t support.
Sounds cultish to say that my opinion matters not, and obedient support is all that matters now?
If individual rights are not respected then why belong?
English

@grouchdiver you make assumptions incorrectly. fed party is a mess, not worthy of any loyalty. this is about selecting someone to lead the removal of The Cult. not about deductions to a building on Bloor. Talk. About. Alberta.
English

@canadianglen I don’t want to be forced to support a federal party with membership and financial support to the provincial party.
Happy to take both somewhere else, should a simple recognition of a person’s right to choose their own association be too difficult for ideologues like you.
English

@grouchdiver Alberta has never been where it is since Aberhart/Manning. if your gimmick to lead the strongest opposition Alberta has ever had is this, instead of a plan to rid us of The Cult, you have no plan.
English

@EDenhoff A rather privileged and naive position for you to take…
English

@grouchdiver The Palestinian qpopulation is not being “wiped out”, despite the very significant non-fighter casualties.
English

Not hearing as quick of a response as usual from you…or are you looking for a poll that says that most people are fine just being spectators while crimes against humanity are being inflicted by the Israeli government…with a little help from friends like Canada.

@EDenhoff @dimitrilascaris So…just sit back and wait for one side to exterminate the other?
English

@EDenhoff Happy to hear about the other interests you have…
English

@grouchdiver No. I actually have life outside twitter! Anyway, a two state solution seems the only workable one but not likely for some time given current events.
English

@canadianglen I’m saying that as a democratic party, how can it be acceptable to force people who want to join the Alberta NDP because it aligns with their values and interests to not have the right to choose whether or not to join the federal party, which they may not want to do?
English

@grouchdiver so you subscribe that the UCP are not dogmatic fascists?
English

@BrandieHarrop @djclimenhaga Sounds like the party wants to maintain greater central control over memberships and the money that comes from it…sparse federal support in Ontario and the rest of Canada East of Ontario needs more funding than they can provide for themselves?
English

@djclimenhaga So far it looks like many people disagree with you.
Brandie Harrop@BrandieHarrop
I hated how a prov NDP membership forced a federal membership on me making me ineligible to get a federal membership to the party of my choice. (Not NDP) So I was forced to choose. To my fellow ABndpers do you want it separated so you can choose?
English

Rakhi Pancholi’s notion Alberta’s NDP should split from the federal party is a risky idea that should be left undisturbed. albertapolitics.ca/2024/02/rakhi-… #ableg #abpoli #cdnpoli
English

@canadianglen The bit about dogmatic fascists sounds farcical…
English

@grouchdiver to make what is an administrative process of membership part of a leadership campaign to oppose thinly-veiled dogmatic fascists is weak.
English

@canadianglen It’s not simply an administrative matter, federal party gets a boost in the number of people who they say are people who support them and wanted to join them as paid members…which isn’t true in all cases. I like that MLA Ganley said that she is open to the idea, nothing more.

@obinson May the cavity search be deep and wide…

@ShawnaGofABPoli While the services that I exchange for money are not too egregious and the wage, if tied to inflation, would be tolerable, I look forward to hanging up the skates, so to speak…😊
