Why is ‘Where Have All The Merrymakers Gone?’ by Harvey Danger not in the emo canon? It even has a house for album art.

For me to buy it on CD would cost $11 USD for the disc, and then an additional $16 USD for shipping. Add in taxes, and conversion, and it’s probably going to cost me $35 for that CD with most of it going to the USPS. This is a problem.

Canadian bands signing solely to American labels hurts their Canadian fans. There’s a band who I would love to support by buying their new record, but it’s only shipping from the US.

‘Epic’ is a solid song, but how is it Faith No More’s ‘big song’ when ‘From Out Of Nowhere’ is right there?

We saw glimpses of it on GLOW ON, but with NEVER ENOUGH I really feel @TURNSTILEHC have cemented themselves as the Pink Floyd of hardcore and that is ok with me. This new record is a journey.

@growingpunkpod Thanks! Yeah I was aware Ginn was a Dead fan as I had read a handful of interviews with him talking about the music that inspired him including his deep love for jazz which I also share, but didn’t change the line for this reason. Was simply a nod to the band and to Ray’s art. 👍🏻

Just reading a book on SST records. In it it’s stated that Greg Ginn was a big fan of The Grateful Dead. I always found it interesting that Kris Roe changed the lyrics to ‘Boys of Summer’ in @theataris from ‘a Dead Head sticker’ to ‘a Black Flag sticker’. Was it intentional?

@theataris Agreed. I guess I was more asking if you changed the lyric to ‘Black Flag sticker’ because you knew Ginn was a Dead fan, and wanted to pay homage? You could’ve picked any punk/hardcore band, really.

@growingpunkpod I dig the Dead but seeing Flag in “The Decline of the Western Civilization” as a kid changed my life. That “First Four Years” era of the band is still untouchable. And visually speaking Raymond Pettibon’s art is just so iconic including that line made sense I felt. 👍🏻🫡
