What does “We were happy we can give our server something” even mean? Was there a thought process or scenario when you made the reservation that involved not tipping at all? Do you work for free at your job? The staff at restaurants depend on tips to make a living. That’s the system we are in and every . If we all want to change that to include it in the price of food then great, let’s do that. Until then you are just fucking over people who depend on tips to pay their rent, put food on the table and clothes on their back.

We went to a dinner as a group and had a $500 bill. We tipped $40. We were happy we can be able to give our server something, but her reaction was the opposite. She told us she assumed we're going to give her at least $120. When we asked for the manager, she said she was just joking, but she wasn't smiling at all. Idk, but is $40 tip enough for $500 bill? Your description leaves out the context in which we came to these conclusions. Alcohol is directly related to many life altering and ending illness’s and outcomes, cannabis simply does not have these outcomes. The supernatural faith you speak of I view as a positive, not negative. For many people who grew up in the 80s and 90s as I did, cannabis was our connecting element. It did not matter what you looked like, how you dressed, where you came from. If you burned a joint with me, we were cool with each other. If you knew I smoked and I knew you did, we could flash a wave and know we were in it together against the establishment, It was our culture and it was labeled the counter culture. We didn’t discriminate against any smokers, you were always accepted. I believe that’s what the younger generation has been robbed of, that connection to other people and acceptance. Cannabis users are not fools, useless, lazy, etc. They are people looking to expand their mind and relax. As they experiment with the plant they find their tolerances and how it affects them directly and they can regulate very easily while seeing little to no side effects. Are their people who smoke to much? of course there is. You will find extreme usage in almost any category on the planet and cannabis is no different, especially and including post recreational usage. The reason we hold tight to keeping it legal is because for those of us in our 40s, we have watched so many lives ruined by a ridiculous legal policy that threw people in jail for smoking and ruined people’s lives. It was and is absurd. People should have dominion over their own bodies and choices as long as it does not affect you. As a freedom first and limited government individual I am surprised you don’t follow this doctrine Matt.

Alcohol can be dangerous, but everyone who drinks alcohol knows that and will admit it. You'll never hear anyone argue that there are no dangers or downsides to alcohol. But most pot smokers honestly believe, or have convinced themselves, that there is no downside to their drug of choice. You can get high every day for 50 years and nothing bad will happen. There are no tradeoffs, they insist. Literally all of the data, all of the research, all of our experience, not to mention basic common sense, conflicts with this belief, but they don't care. The average pot smoker is much more likely to smoke in excess precisely because the whole mythology of pot is that there is no such thing as excess.
