Sick of seeing this account spread misinformation: Norway kills more whales than any country in the world. Last year, they slaughtered ~429 whales—many were pregnant. Norway ~63% Antarctic krill catch China ~24% (CCAMLR latest data) It is misleading to only mention China

Whales migrate to Antarctica to feed on krill so they can build up energy to breed When countries like Norway stopped whaling in 80s, we thought whale populations would bounce back & they did Now Chinese vessels are going after the krill without really knowing how much is left

The rather lovely Wagner Skytrac 3 prototype helicopter from West Germany in the 1960s. The Skytrac project evolved over 30 years, but without much success and the design rights were eventually sold to a Chinese company... with the intention of building it as a UAV!

Chinese fishing vessel in Antarctic scooping up krill, right next to whales and penguins These ships track where the animals go to feed & take their food. The ship is Shi Dao, the same fishing vessel that was caught dumping oil into Fijian waters at a shipyard a few years ago.

The Saunders-Roe Princess airliner flying boat, this time with some reference to the proposed passenger cabin layout. The prototype only ever flew with an empty fuselage bar some monitoring equipment.

The PZL TS-16 Grot...which I assume sounds better in Polish! Was a proposed Polish supersonic trainer and fighter design from 1958. Considering that the UK was still employing Meteors and Vampires at this time, it was very advanced,but only a full-scale wooden mock-up was built.

Sometimes, an enthusiastic engineer will try and circumnavigate conventional thinking. The Maiwurm Flyworm, was just such a machine. It was powered by propulsion using a rotating device that functioned like an Archimedes screw or Magus effect engine...with which it never flew!

In Wolverhampton a parking warden is handing out parking tickets outside a mosque. A man with a foreign accent, parked on the pavement, calls him a racist. I am told many councils ignore illegal parking outside Mosques on Fridays. It is, after all, two-tier Britain.
