Not sure which golf ball is right for your swing? Most golfers are playing the wrong ball without knowing it. Take our free 60-second quiz and find out what you should actually be using. ⛳ grumpygopher.com/golf-ball-fitt… #Golf #GolfTips

@coston_jeff The mirror work piece is huge — proprioception tells students one thing while video shows another completely. The exaggeration cue breaks that loop. Do you find most students need multiple sessions before the 'exaggerated' movement actually starts to show up on course?

Coston working on his swing! One must exaggerate to make a change. Don’t just hit balls, work in a mirror to feel the change and exaggeration. #CostonOut

@Nickolgolf The path + face combo is what trips people up most. So many golfers try to fix the hook by just weakening the grip, but if the path stays in-to-out they're only shifting the problem. Do you usually address path first or face angle when working through this?

Can’t stop hooking the ball? Here is a great drill you can do to neutralize that inside out path with a face too closed to it.

@ClassicSwingX The 'right things in the right order' framing is key. Compression isn't a position, it's a sequence — and most golfers get told WHAT to feel but not WHY the sequence creates it. What's the most common misconception you see students bring into their first lesson about compression?

Compression. Everyone wants it… but very few truly understand how to create it. That crisp, downward strike that produces effortless distance isn’t about swinging harder—it’s about doing the right things in the right order. Tonight (and Friday at 7pm CT), I’m breaking down the true fundamentals of compression in a FREE webinar. Link is in the first comment! If you’ve ever wondered why the pros make it look so easy… this is where it starts. Join me and take the mystery out of your game.

@carolinpinegger The 'subtle is powerful' principle is so overlooked in backswing coaching. Most golfers think bigger is better until they see how much tension it costs them. Do you find students from other sports (tennis, baseball) have a harder time dialing back those big rotations?

@ScottYurgzGolf The 'down not around' cue is so underrated. Most amateur downswings fall apart looping outward to 'hit' the ball instead of dropping the hands. Do students struggle more with the concept, or is it mainly a feel issue once they understand the path?

I see a lot of bad downswing sequences every year and many questions on how to fix it. One of the simplest drills for solving your downswing is the follow this drill! It will help you understand the process of moving the hand path the most DOWN and not around, while also moving your weight the most FORWARD for LONGER. Give it a try and let me know what you think! #Golf #GolfTips #GolfInstruction

@golf_blackthorn 100% — the 'small adjustments, big results' thing is real. Once students can actually see what's happening in their swing instead of just feeling it, everything clicks faster. Do you find video analysis helps most with that breakdown for your students?

@nickolsongolf The technical vs performance coaching split is such a useful framework — so many players drill mechanics perfectly on the range but can't access them on the course. Do you find the performance side is where most students are really underserved?

@rossmacleodputt Love the no-equipment approach — removing any excuse for golfers not to practice is half the battle. The competitive element of 'score out of 10' is clever too, makes it easy to track progress over sessions.

@kanevgolf That stinger is one of the most studied shots in golf instruction — the way he delofts through impact while maintaining shaft lean is something most amateurs can't replicate without completely rethinking their setup. What do you coach first when a student wants to learn it?

Great Golf Tip, Teaching Pro Don Sheen describes the right elbow and right hip positioning through the impact area. Many golfers jam their right elbow into the right hip and find themselves in a stuck position at the bottom of the swing. Click & Watch! youtu.be/G_eB5ssmTnE

@shkeengolf That framing is so much more useful for students than chasing positions — 'avoid the extremes' is something they can actually feel and self-correct. Do you find tour-level players tend to grasp this faster than amateurs, or is it a universal challenge?

Here’s a convo with a great player about how important it is to match your BACKSWING alignments to your downswing ✅ Golf is never about hitting perfect “positions” but rather balancing out the appropriate movements so that you don’t fall into an extreme scenario. In this case, the golfer has too many “shallow” pieces to her swing and inevitably gets stuck on the way down as a result of it, so her goal is to add some steepeners to balance it out. Higher hands and/or more chest rotation in the downswing, to name a few!

@ryanmouquegolf The hand path piece is so often overlooked — most amateurs focus all their speed training on the arms when the real gains are hiding in ground force and hip clearance. Which of these tends to click fastest for your students?

If you want to hit the ball an extra 10-20y off the tee, this is how you do it 👇👇👇 What I'm doing here are some movements that will help me add at least 5-10mph of club head speed, which assuming middle face contact will result in more distance 1. Longer hand path 2. More rotation 3. Feeling the lead foot raise up There's many other things happening in this swing as a result, all of which you can learn about inside my academy where I have a full "Speed Training" course which gives you many different ways to add speed immediately Become a member & get access to the course right away 👊

When you take a golf lesson you should walk away with a little to work on not a lot. Good teacher have a process for your improvement and a path. Don't be afraid to ask them what that is. If they can't answer it I would find a new instructor.
