@Matthew06638276 @MustacheBob2 Should’ve never tried when they didn’t stand a chance. Grant knew his advantages and pressed them, wether he wins or losses a battle is irrelevant if the overall strategy is being worked towards and achieved.

If Mexico was able to stalemate the U.S and leave it with a million casualties while all the U.S was able to take was small border towns and some desert/ farmland and the U.S couldn't advance into Tijuana city proper that's the level of humiliation Ukraine has inflicted on Russia

@JLJWilliamsx @cameron19460429 Major industrial zone which the Russians have flattened in many areas. Made farmlands unusable for years. Used the population for the war machine. Crippled the Russian economy while setting it on a downward spiral. And Sevastopol was evacuated lol.

@cameron19460429 Not really. The Donbass is a major resource and industrial region. Plus warm water port. This would be like the US taking Juarez and all northern cities plus ports of Ensenada and Guaymas. Embarrassing but a decent haul.

Are you experiencing high gas prices and grocery prices? Are you having trouble paying your bills? If so, the President just made fun of you and thinks your concerns about affordability are “bullshit.” November is coming.
CALL TO ACTIVISM@CalltoActivism

BREAKING: A DC pollster just texted me “it’s over” after Donald Trump’s speech today where he called “affordability” a “line of bullshit.” There is not one Republican lawmaker who is up in 2028 that didn’t just shit their pants. He just gave Democrats the perfect ad.

@c_slyme @captive_dreamer I don't believe that's factual. (Maybe back in Bakhmut yes as it was ultra fortified) Both sides have highly adapted their doctrines to avoid such fighting. Mainly Drones, guided bombs, arty etc.

@Grunkalunk11 @AmbBridgetBrink Yes, sure, make whatever conclusion you like. Summary: EU has not treated the war in its own region as a high priority, which weakens deterrence signals to other actors. Zelensky seeks US security guarantees, and key logistics are also provided by the US, so EU is not leading.

@AmbBridgetBrink Trump is positioning himself as a mediator, not an ally. You can’t broker a ceasefire if you "openly" take one side, Putin would never engage. A mediator needs leverage with both sides, not just moral alignment.

@burh4an_ @AmbBridgetBrink Europe has significantly increased defense spending since 2014, almost every single member is meeting 2% GDP some even over that and around 3% some countries say what they’ll do like France, other countries like the Baltics carry their weight but you ignore that.

@Grunkalunk11 @AmbBridgetBrink Research European actions since 2014 Crimea annexation and the two years of the current war. Non existent for actions which require Burden-sharing. (upsetting markets, risking domestic popularity). Just bc they say nice things, doesn't mean they have tried achieving anything.

@burh4an_ @AmbBridgetBrink It’s almost like Russia wouldn’t have struck the protective shield if the U.S. was strong against Russia, but instead we aren’t, and instead Europe is leading leaving the U.S. in the dust.

@Grunkalunk11 @juliandorey Oh, fuck I’m dealing with an idiot now It’s all documented at the UN there’s footage all over the place. One of the earlier plans for Crimea was to move all the Russian speaking Crimean citizens into Russia that was 2011 that was an option with the Obama administration.

@burh4an_ @AmbBridgetBrink U.S. focus is hardly shifting towards China right now when we’re attacking Venezuela and Iran using large portions of our stockpiles of weapons needed for the pacific while also transferring equipment out of the region.

@Grunkalunk11 @AmbBridgetBrink However, Marco Rubio, US Sec of State, is pro-Ukraine, so the US is not going to walk away. But Europe bears responsibility for poor war management, remaining dependent despite knowing US focus shifted to China, weakening trust with a key partner & proving unreliability.

@burh4an_ @AmbBridgetBrink European support is non-existent what? Europe has donated hundreds of tanks, IFVs, APCs, SPGs, SPHs, helicopters, patrol boats, planes from the MiG-29 to the F-16, on top of manufacturing drones and other equipment for Ukraine, ontop of large loans. You cannot be serious.

@TexasPirate88 @undercover_n_WA @AmbBridgetBrink That’s a childish example. A national election which requires tens of millions of votes across numerous countries across half the world which decides the fate of their country during a war is not equal to a song contest.

I resigned as U.S. Ambassador Ukraine when Trump kept siding with Putin over our democratic partner. Now, my successor is doing the same. I knew I had to speak out and run for office because siding with dictators is just not who we are.
Amy Mackinnon@ak_mack

Scoop: Julie Davis, the acting US Ambassador in Kyiv, is leaving the State Department having grown frustrated with Trump's dwindling support for Ukraine. Davis's resignation follows that of her predecessor, Bridget Brink, who resigned for similar reasons early last year. W/@christopherjm  as.ft.com/r/1781e555-fad…

@burh4an_ @AmbBridgetBrink Sure Europe has acted weakly and they’ve needed to step up, and they’re passing more sanctions packages, supplying another $106B loan, making loads of drones for Ukraine, and much more. The most the U.S. has really done is the PURL initiative.

@burh4an_ @AmbBridgetBrink America hasn’t really acted, we’ve given waivers for Russian oil, we gave Putin an on ramp to normalize relations with the world, we’ve sent delegations to Russia to kiss Putin’s ass but we won’t even send them to Ukraine to have serious conversations about peace.

@burh4an_ @AmbBridgetBrink Europe has been helping fund Russia and they don’t get a free pass but we’re talking about Trump and the US. Putin has not been engaging in good faith peace negotiations and as such any further attempts should be halted until he is serious about peace, make him feel pain.

@Grunkalunk11 @AmbBridgetBrink If you’d notice, Trump kept most Russia sanctions and simply shifted verbally from escalation to negotiation. Europe, on the other hand, still indirectly funds Russia through LNG, rerouted oil, and remaining trade channels, yet takes zero blame while refusing strict action.

@TexasPirate88 @undercover_n_WA @AmbBridgetBrink As soon as the constitution of Ukraine allows for elections, but that means the war must end. Zelensky did propose for I believe a 20-30 day ceasefire for Ukraine to hold elections however this was denied/never considered by Russia.
