Everyone likes to see the young punk get owned. But the fact of the matter is he was probably correct in asserting that he doesn’t have to show any id to the officer. And other than being a total tool…he didn’t threaten the officer. Most of the time these instigators are looking for a lawsuits. And he’s probably justified in filing one and will win. That ultimately just costs the tax payers money. Cop should’ve resisted the urge to throw his little punk ass down and not given him what he wanted.

No, that’s as much a part of our history as the statues of civil war leaders, and a good reminder to us all that racism is the most unpatriotic and dangerous of sentiments. Sometimes it’s good to be reminded of what we do not want to be. History forgotten is more likely to be repeated. The way in which this poor man died over a petty theft is appalling and heartbreaking. The only modification to this statue should be to borrow from Dachau the inscription: “Never Again”
