9 years ago today we took down Duke in Greenville, SC to advance to the Sweet 16 in MSG… This sparked a magical run through the East Region in NYC and ultimately lead to our first and only Final Four in MBB… I’d do anything to have that feeling again… #CB90 🤙🏼💯🐔

Rarely do you see coaches actively trying to get fired during a season. I think Paul Mainieri’s buyout is around $5M. Lighting money on fire at this point. The hire didn’t work, everyone knows it.

@BCrawford247 Not sure this is a good take. USA was silenced but it’s not like Venezuela run ruled them. Two teams full of MLB pros playing like pros. professionals. The DR and Venezuela produce a lot of MLB players every year. To think the USA is going to dominate just doesn’t track anymore.

@franklinnb @GamecockBourbon I completely forgot about that. I think after he had to suspend FM for getting caught on live tv cursing out a player, he didn’t know how to handle him. I liked FM but couldn’t figure out how he didn’t take the momentum of the FF and do more. He also didn’t change w the times.

Simply incredible what has happened to our baseball program.
Ray Tanner has to be embarrassed and humiliated. He built this thing to heights programs dream: 3 straight national title games. I maintain it’s the hardest sport to do so, but he did it. Before Dawn Staley, the single greatest coach in USC history.
Then takes the AD job, and destroyed it systematically over the last 15 years.
I hate it.

@franklinnb @GamecockBourbon Ray hired boom after missing on 3-4 other coaches,then gave him a ridiculous contract that hamstrung the school for 5 years. He then hired Shane, a position coach who has never been a coordinator or coach. Jury still out him.. this year make or break id think. LP is what it is.

For reference, the Gamecocks were 17-5 (1-2 SEC) through the first 22 games last year.
Mind you, they didn’t lose any games to mid-majors last season. They’re five losses worse so far this year and with half their total losses coming against mid-majors.

Was traveling home all day and just got back a short while ago but… South Carolina loses 11-8 to Charlotte and falls to 12-10 (0-3 SEC) on the year and has now lost five straight games. Gamecocks hosting No. 4 Arkansas this weekend, starting Friday night.
