@sharrond62 How do you get someone away from an instant dopamine hit to one that is delayed after a level of work? Most people are addicted to their phones, imagine how much harder that is for a young developing brain Make the better choices the easiest choices and the worse choices harder.

How do we get young girls in particular but all kids, away for their smart phones & doing sport. Exercise is so terribly important for mental health as well as physically of course. Getting habits as kids we then have for a lifetime. Building personal confidence not reliant of ‘like’ or ‘follows’. Increased mental health issues & self harm can be shown to have grown parallel to more ‘on line’ life! Got to get kids living in the ‘here & now’ interacting with people not gadgets.

It's days like this that make all the what's app messages worth it 😂 @TomGrahamMarr2 🥈 @Benny23100 🥉 Both brought their A-game at the @scotathletics Short Course X Champs today. Senior nationsl medals for two 21 year olds. Exceptional. Right, now back to work. 🔥⚡️

@andrewwoodroffe It has been a thing in Europe for a long time. Unsure if it is just a translation thing though rather than trying to make it sound better. Not sure of any english speaking country that says this

When did “vice” start becoming a thing in triathlon? Eg “vice European champion”?! I’m really unsure about that one. Vice suggests your waiting for the winner to step down..!

@lochindaal1 @andrewwoodroffe @TriathlonMocker @Noaveragejoe88 This! And I think it highlights a different problem. Ironman have capatilised on the money making potential of triathlon as can be seen with so many athletes willing to pay this obsene money. But the money is clustered among a few. Spread the wealth and bring everyone up!?

Really interesting on the @TriathlonMocker Instagram. @Noaveragejoe88 possibly not racing Kona due to the insane costs. Exactly why I turned down my slot after Switzerland, is it really a world champs anymore or just those who can afford to go?! For AGrs anyway! 8-10K to race!

@andrewwoodroffe The sport is changing. Funny how stacked Arzachena WC is, on the same weekend... sprint distance but a really good (natural) course.

European triathlon champs this weekend. Taking place with a heats and finals format over super sprint. Really not sure I’m a fan of this constant shortening of triathlon for major champs. Yes good to get multiple races but champs should be one race all in. #etuchamps

Can’t quite believe I’m saying this but I’ve just PASSED my PhD viva with minor corrections. Not quite sunk in yet. Will graduate next summer as Dr. Archibald! Pint time.

@TrimesTeam Exactly the question I was asking. If that is the reason, then it is somewhat worrying that the past system may not have been effective?

@gsheldon23 Ita is now in charge of the bio passport program and I believe that they in charge of more. It’s an independent organisation from itu. We have seen some changes in the people in charge. Coincidence???

Doping positives in triathlon seem to coming in at a rate unseen before. Did these athletes just resort to drugs this year? Likely they have been tested/investigated their entire career and just at the end they get found? There seems to be more of a story here...?

@TriathlonZone @ringsau There seems to have been a pattern here though? Either a change in drug taking practise as a group or testing/investigation practise.

#WTCSMontreal thoughts. Triathlon didn’t need this. It already existed with superleague. What it needed was harder challenging bike courses and more Olympic distance racing. #listentotheathletes

@gsheldon23 @andrewwoodroffe @CrowieAlexander @andybtricoach That’s a good point. The problem is that people are always asking for more spectacular races. Like a coach told me. It’s better to have wait and see bike for 7km than a 40km. At the end, it’s the athletes who make the race exiting or not.

@TrimesTeam @andrewwoodroffe @CrowieAlexander @andybtricoach Agree that would be awesome, but is there a way to do that which doesn't change the sport completely. I guess the worry is that once there are a few of these races, they'll become more common and in a few years no more OD. I think the Q should be how to make OD achieve that?

After 7 trips to England, & 4,236 miles put into my car, the Scottish Champs this weekend marks the end of the track season for these two guys. It's been a real privilege for me to journey with these two this summer, & to break some barriers. For one final time...let's go.
