BREAKING: The Supreme Court has just ruled 6-3 that it is legal to criminalize homelessness. The Court sided with an Oregon town that made it illegal to camp in public, overturning a decades long precedent that says criminalizing homelessness is cruel and unusual punishment.

Using footage of its streets, San Jose is training algorithms to detect unwanted objects--including tents and cars with people living inside. This experiment with automated surveillance of homelessness is the first of its kind in the country: theguardian.com/technology/202…
