When snake hunts go wrong for hawks Snakes sometimes coil around birds of prey in a desperate attempt to escape after being attacked. While hawks are skilled snake hunters, these encounters can quickly become dangerous for both animals.

We don't deserve cats 😺
We don't deserve cats 😺@catsareblessing·
Most people never knew this part of history. During World War One, nearly half a million cats were sent into trenches and ships. They were brought to hunt rats that were destroying soldiers' food. But they did more than that. They gave comfort. They reminded soldiers of home, family, and love. Sometimes, the smallest heroes are the ones history forgets.

PETA claims to love animals. So when people find out PETA kidnaps pets—including taking a dog from a garden and killing it—it shocks millions. We support animal charities, but PETA’s tactics drive funding away from real advocacy. Follow our account if you support our mission.

Salvador Dalí adorava jantar bem. Grupos grandes. Mesas longas. Vinhos caros. Elefantes. Cavalos. Figuras surreais. Assinava embaixo. E entregava o cheque ao estabelecimento. Dalí sabia exatamente o que aconteceria a seguir. O dono do restaurante não descontaria o cheque. Colocaria numa moldura. A conta estava paga. Fontes: ISTOÉ — ArteRef — Revista Bula — Top Melhores

Penguins on a "Blue Iceberg" caused by thousands of years of compression The interesting shapes are caused from wave action below and wind erosion above, where the waves cannot reach. The blue color occurs mostly in very old ice from a very deep glacier and is the result hundreds or even thousands of years of compression and ongoing thawing and refreezing of the ice. Over time, these processes release much of the air that was originally trapped by the falling snow. As this happens, the reflective surfaces of our "snowflakes" disappear. The ability to reflect light exists only when there is air between the surfaces of  the ice crystals. This very, very old, and very, very dense ice is no longer capable of reflecting light. So it no longer appears white.

Chelsea Perkins murdered the man who raped her. She pled guilty and took full responsibility. She was given 22.5 years in prison. Jesse Mack Butler raped and strangled two children. One sustained such severe neck injuries she almost died. He got community service.

The Islamic Republic just hanged Erfan Shakourzadeh, a brilliant 29-year-old Master's student in Aerospace Engineering, one of Iran's brightest young minds. They arrested him in 2025, threw him in a cell, tortured him for months in solitary confinement, and forced a confession out of him. Zero evidence. All fabricated. They didn’t just execute a student. They murdered another future of Iran — a talented young engineer who should have been building satellites. This barbaric Islamic regime keeps slaughtering its best and brightest while the world stays silent.

An unusually orange snowy owl spotted in Michigan has left scientists puzzled over its rare coloring. Wildlife photographer Julie Maggert captured the bird, nicknamed “Rusty” by locals. While snowy owls are normally known for their white feathers, experts believe the owl’s unusual reddish-orange color may have been caused by dye, de-icing fluid, or a rare genetic mutation.

These are tough results for Labour. There’s no sugarcoating it. We’ve lost brilliant Labour representatives who’ve stood up for their communities. People are still frustrated. Their lives aren’t changing fast enough. We haven’t offered enough hope or optimism for the future. I was elected to change this country - tough days like this don’t weaken my determination to do that. They strengthen it.

These are tough election results for Labour and I’m sorry to all of those colleagues who have lost their seats. Keir Starmer won a mandate to change our country. We must get on with delivering that mandate - and show how politics can improve people’s lives for the better.

@benonwine Why don’t supermarkets have the guts to congratulate workers who do this instead of punishing them?

Gary MacArthur gave 15 years of his life to Sainsbury’s in West Wickham, south-east London. He wasn’t some troublemaker. He was the worker who stayed late to make female colleagues feel safer. The worker who performed CPR on the store’s only security guard after he suffered a suspected stroke. The worker who had already previously LOST TEETH after being punched by a thief while trying to protect the store. But after tackling an allegedly aggressive repeat offender known for targeting the branch and stealing bottles of Moët, Bollinger and Veuve Clicquot Sainsbury’s sacked him for gross misconduct. This was after colleagues screamed there was an “aggressive Champagne thief” in the store. According to reports, the shoplifter later smashed bottles and hurled them at staff. Yet Gary MacArthur a man who dedicated 15 years of loyalty, protected colleagues and even helped save a life that same day — was told he should have acted only as a “visual deterrent.” Absolutely disgusting. Supermarket workers are being punched, threatened, abused and terrorised by repeat shoplifters on a daily basis… yet the staff who actually step in to protect colleagues and customers are the ones losing their jobs. Gary MacArthur at Sainsbury’s. Walker Smith at Waitrose. Sean Egan at Morrisons. Gavin Ramsay at Asda. Decades of loyalty thrown away because they refused to stand by while thieves ran riot. What kind of country are we becoming where the people trying to protect others lose everything… while the criminals walk straight back out onto the streets?
