welcome to my little bookshelf 📖
- here’s a thread of books i’ve finished, my favorite lines from each and a review at the end. ♡
if you end up reading any of them because of this thread, i’d love to hear what you think.

its kinda insane that none of us know which sentence will be our last. imagine saying something completely ordinary and someone spends the rest of their life remembering it because you never got to say another word.
cr: the five people you meet in heaven by mitch albom
my toxic trait is starting another book because i don’t feel like bringing my ipad to work and i need to have a good read using my phone #booktwt
"by the time you are real, most of your hair has been loved off and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. but these things don't matter at all, because once you are real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."
no such thing as "too much love"
“you erode all my edges and make me into love, love, love.”
"my heart is made of parts of all that surround me, that's why the devil just can't get around me."
the way i get “may jowa/asawa ka na ba maam?” from time to time here at work is so 😭 like damn can a woman just exist professionally without her relationship status becoming part of the conversation
normalize calling out workplace incompetence. hindi nakakatuwa ang pagiging pabigat. every task you neglect becomes someone else’s unpaid labor!!!! ang tanda na rin natin para maging pabigat sa trabaho. it’s embarrassing and at the same time it shows who you really are.
when the state itself makes acquiring those IDs unnecessarily difficult.
hindi dapat pribilehiyo ang magkaroon ng pagkakakilanlan sa sarili mong bansa.
kapag hindi accessible ang mga batayang dokumento, hindi lang convenience ang nawawala. it’s access to work/healthcare/education/banking and more. ang nakakagalit, we keep treating IDs as proof that someone deserves to participate in society….
i really hope cinemalaya will have a cebu leg. im so interested sa mga films na ipapalabas this year and im looking forward to 2 valid ids.
also, 2 valid ids reminds me of something ive believed for a long time which is basic civic literacy should be part of college education.
