The wars of the world expose a deficit that politics cannot fill and activism alone cannot remedy. The problem runs deeper than policy. It runs all the way down to the human heart. So where do we turn? Not to a strategy. To a Person. “He Himself is our peace.” — Ephesians 2:14 New essay on Substack. #peaceofchrist #inchrist #ephesians #faithandculture #peacemakers #christianwriting #theology #substack jasonguinasso.substack.com/p/the-peace-we…

This evening, I had the privilege of attending a small gathering with our NV Governor @JosephMLombardo alongside my law partners, colleagues, and fellow attorneys from across the state who share a deep commitment to Nevada’s future. What strikes me most about Governor Lombardo is what he isn’t. He is not an ideologue. He is not beholden to special interests. He is not a politician who trades conviction for convenience. He is a pragmatic leader who does the hard, often thankless work of governing for all Nevadans, not just the loudest voices in the room. I have watched him lead with thoughtfulness, wisdom, and genuine compassion for the people of this state. In a political landscape that rewards posturing and partisanship, Governor Lombardo has chosen a different path that includes listening, discerning, and making decisions grounded in what is actually good for Nevada’s families, businesses, and communities. I am grateful for his service. And I am proud to stand among those who enthusiastically support his re-election. Nevada deserves leaders who govern with integrity and purpose. We have one.

In the fall of 2023, I wrote an article for The Nevada Independent arguing that Israel’s response to the Hamas attacks would follow the same catastrophic arc as America’s response to September 11. I argued the violence would not be proportional, would not bring peace, and would metastasize across the region. I wish I had been wrong. Violence kept every one of its promises. I’ve written a new reflection on what the world has reaped since October 7, 2023, and why the case for peace is stronger and more urgent than ever. As a lawyer, a pastor, and a follower of Jesus Christ, I believe the cycle of retribution has no natural stopping point. Someone must choose the harder thing. Wrote something for This Is Reno this week about Reno’s mayoral race. It’s part politics, part civics lesson, part honest question to the people running. If you live here or follow Nevada news, worth a quick read. thisisreno.com/2026/03/counci…

Tim Ross is the real deal. Deep roots in the community. Small business owner and entrepreneur. Dedicated to public safety through a career in law enforcement career. Police union president who fought for working people. Public servant who has given his life to this community. Now he’s running for Mayor of Reno — and I couldn’t be more proud to support him. Reno, this is your guy. 🇺🇸 #RossForReno rossforreno.com

Some friendships reshape how you see the world. Olivier is one of those friends. I met him and his family while studying at Regent College in Vancouver, and their music carries something rare: beauty that reaches deep and lingers. His latest music video is out now. 🎶 Give it a listen … Far Away - Olivier Kavutse youtu.be/Q0I6x4vnSLw?si… via @YouTube

My latest column dropped yesterday in the @TheNVIndy . It’s been eight years since Nevada legalized recreational marijuana, and I took a hard look at whether the industry kept its promises. Spoiler: they didn’t.
Nevada Independent@TheNVIndy

OPINION by Jason Guinasso: Legalizing marijuana was a mistake. Eight years later, Big Cannabis’ promises of stable education funding and a safely regulated industry have gone up in smoke. Where do we go from here? Read it here: thenevadaindependent.com/article/opinio…

“100,000 people cheered both radical forgiveness and political hatred within minutes of each other.” This moment from the Charlie Kirk memorial has haunted me. I wrote about it for the Reno Gazette Journal—about the spiritual crisis facing American Christianity, and how we navigate faith and politics without losing ourselves. As a Nevada faith leader, I’m asking: How do we engage politically while looking more like Jesus and less like the world’s power games?
