“Therefore, US in everyday clinical practice-and also in SpondyloArthritis and Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA)—is not primarily aimed at scoring the grade of inflammation. Especially in PsA, US is used to detect the actual cause & precise location of the inflammation. 🎯 🔍 For example, in PsA, swelling of a PIP joint is not always associated with synovitis; it can also be due to other causes such as: 🔥 Paratenonitis or Enthesitis (inflammation of the enthesis of ligaments or tendons). La periostitis es un hallazgo radiológico característico pero no exclusivo de la #artritispsoriasica. Cualquier entesopatía inflamatoria puede producirla aunque dependerá en gran medida de la actividad IL22 (la otra gran protagonista de la fisiopatología de las EspAs).
