@GigsandSwigs Yah, great example. some of these rogue protests are just an unfortunate step backwards, and I wouldn’t put them in the same category as the marches with Trae and Bun. It’s mad mixed messaging actually. Media has never covered protest movements well, and with socials, forget it

@gus_weyhing Idk who you are insinuating, but the Trae and Bun Houston demonstrations seemed perfect. Respect and civility, but with purpose. Made a real impact, myself included.

@GigsandSwigs Totally. people are angry and eager to place that energy in a reactionary protest/march. real change is slow and not as visceral, and fizzles out when people aren’t properly directed by experienced organizers. proper protest and messy marches are hard to discern from iPhone clips

@gus_weyhing Absolutely. Which was kind of lost in the original tweet. There is a substantive message that’s losing steam and invigorating votes to the contrary.

@GigsandSwigs less rules to follow would be good too. legal weed in all states would be a really easy place to start

I keep seeing this. Anyone have any results where taking away law enforcement leads to increased law abiding citizens? Y’all think when the teacher leaves the class and says “ok, don’t cheat!” that cheating decreases? I’m ALL for defunding Law Enforcers if it leads to safety

@GigsandSwigs This is a big part of the problem- policing and crime are not related, by any metric. That’s why defunding the police works. Education, public works & infrastructure are known to create a safer community and are notoriously underfunded. But even to answer your question, Yes.
