Bears were a top 10 offense last year by just about every metric, especially over the back half of the season and ranked 5th in weighted offense DVOA
Chadly@Goblue20101788

@Nate_Tice I wouldn’t put the bears offense in the same category as the rams mate

@ggabefootball what are the odds Van Den Berg becomes a meaningful part of the DT rotation in his rookie year?

If the Bears go DT in the first round which one should they take? ▪️Kayden McDonald ▪️Caleb Banks ▪️Peter Woods ▪️Christen Miller ▪️Lee Hunter To me Banks has the most upside but also biggest risk. McDonald best run stuffer lacks pass rush. #Bears #ChicagoBears

Interestingly, the #Bears were actually pretty stout up the middle. Not that I think their DTs were good enough, but schematically, this defense is built to make run D easier on the DTs. Per NGS, they ranked #1 in defensive EPA/Rush between the tackles. 29th outside the tackles.
Clay Harbor@clayharbs82

The Bears gave up the 4th most rushing YPA and 7th most YPG. They were 26th in run stop win rate. Out of 100 qualified DTs Bears DTs rank per PFF vs the run: Neville Gallimore - 74 Grady Jarrett - 78 Gervon Dexter - 80 Kayden McDonald would help greatly. #Bears #DaBears

@_NickWhalen We don’t need to take an LB in day 2 anymore. Have 3 capable starters + Hyppolite as depth

@guyonabuffalo95 @IrishBearsShow Franklin-Meyers would be the best signing IMO then draft an edge. They want more speed and quickness in the entire front 7, particularly at DT

Coming out of the combine, we learned: - The Las Vegas Raiders are interested in trading for Tremaine Edmunds. - The Chicago Bears are interested in trading for Maxx Crosby. Buckle up.

Okay, Kayden McDonald... A Day 1 NT who can help the Bears' run defense immensely. He doesn't seem to defeat double teams a whole lot, but he sure commands them. He's very young, so perhaps some pass rush potential, but not there yet. A high floor and a very useful player, but not extremely exciting at 25, either.
Dhruv Koul@DhruvKoul

Okay, Christen Miller... He kinda rules? I think the scheme made him surf the LOS way too much; in the three games I watched, he doesn't get to attack the backfield much. But when he's allowed to, he does it well. He's a good example of what the Bears need at DT. I think I prefer Woods, but Miller is a strong choice if available.

@jacobinfante24 Why is Lee Hunter so low? I way better pass rush production than the other DTs, still very good against the run

Lee has zero pass rush ability. McDonald is much better in that department.

@ErikLambert1 Tell me why yes on Kayden McDonald but not on Lee? I like McDonald too but I’m interested in how you came to that conclusion

The Gannon hire also signals what was probably already true: this is going to be a War Daddy draft for the Packers. I bet they draft 3+ DL

The #Bears have plenty of moves they could make to free up 2026 cap space They obviously won't do all of these; this is just to show what options they have CUT: • Tremaine Edmunds ($15M) • Cole Kmet ($8.4M) • D'Andre Swift ($7.5M) • Amen Ogbongbemiga ($2.1M) TRADE: • DJ Moore ($16.5M) • Montez Sweat ($16.9M) RESTRUCTURE: • Joe Thuney ($7.6M) • Jaylon Johnson ($6.9M) • Jonah Jackson ($6.9M) • Drew Dalman ($5M)

We'll see on the All-22 just how close this is, but the ball comes right off Christian Watson's hand. Only went up with one hand to get it. (Also thought this could have easily been flagged for a hit on a defenseless player)
