After all this radio, walked to the top of Dunkery beacon to see the view up the bristol channel was like. Impressive!

Also worked g8cub/p on cleeve common cheltenham at 136km on 24 and 47GHz (nil on 76GHz too much water on path) and g4uvz on 24GHz but best dx was hearing gb3zme/b on 24GHz at 181km!

Out portable on dunkery beacon slopes in somerset working @G8GTZ @davegkq on 24GHz DATV and g4ldr on 47GHz cw on bulbarrow hill at 96km. Not an unobstructed path i think!

Out portable yesterday at IO80WU working 122 and 134 GHz with Roger GW8CUB/P on Bloringe mountain. Dew point was around 0 degrees and running Roger’s high power (3 Milliwatt) at both ends we achieved a new UK record at 67kms 😀

Came to cleeve common to compare my existing 24g xverter with the newly boxed wavelab with db6nt preamp. Very similar results with gb3zme/b , the surprise was hearing gb3bed/b on both with the 18" dish!

@BATCOnline just to prove 24GHz works on a rainy day I worked Gareth @g4xat over 58km on nbfm again and had a 2way 5GHz FMTV qso. No that isn't the sun it's the camera flash!

@m0lmk it provides 5 volts on transmit on the centre conductor of the antenna socket which switches external transverters without having to use an extra PTT lead

Finally got the courage to dismantle my ic-705 and do the Dubus 5V on transmit modification

Out with the old. In with the new. Years of living on the coast took its toll on the tin plate box. Will try another box on it though later. New preamp been awaiting my station rebuild

@verpoler I did mine as per the DUBUS modification 6 months ago, saved me so much trouble since!

Today, Icom IC705 Modification for 12V DC to the antenna jack while TXing. Kuhne Transverter can Go on transmit with it, dont need a ptt cable
