Last week, many of us accused the Tinubu administration of tribalism for naming a major road after Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka. Today, you are silent as the same Tinubu government names another major road after Chinua Achebe. In the same way, we commended the Second Niger Bridge as necessary and even belated, only to turn around and condemn the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as unnecessary, because other roads need attention. As if there were no other bridges needing attention when the Second Niger Bridge was being constructed. And we threatened and shouted when the National Assembly bought 400 SUVs for Legislators, but started to justify it when it was revealed that Peter Obi bought 400 SUVs for Anambra Igwes as Governor. Just as many of us cried actual tears on social for Deborah Samuel, but when the brothers, Chinedu and Omama, were roasted alive in Onitsha, we remained silent. Just as we justified the demolition of part of Premier Brewery, by Peter Obi when he was building a road as Anambra Governor, only to condemn the Federal Government for tearing down Landmark Beachfront (which had no legal title to the land). The challenge is that when things concern us, we have one standard. But when it comes to others, we use a different standard. Nigeria did not happen to you. You and your Gbajue happened to Nigeria big time! #TableShaker

If you can't afford Coke at ₦400, drink water. If pepper is scarce, plant it in your backyard. If bread is overpriced, consider pap, ogi, akamu. If DSTV is out of reach, reach for a book instead. If restaurants increase prices, cook at home. If your power bill is high, reduce your usage. If data is expensive, use free mode more often. As a people, we must learn to cut our coats according to our cloth, not our size. Economic challenges are a worldwide phenomenon. There is a hunger crisis in Britain, a homeless crisis in Canada, and a healthcare conundrum in the United States. It is not just Nigeria. Our situation in Nigeria is compounded by the loans Buhari took, which mortgaged our future oil sales. And since we in Nigeria cannot adjust economic realities to suit ourselves, we must adapt ourselves to suit economic conditions. Wishing you and your families a most enjoyable Sunday. #TableShaker

The lady I buy frozen foods from is a single mum with twins -one boy and a girl. Maybe she gave birth to them in her early 20s because I doubt she's 30 yet and so pretty. I like the way she runs her business and that's one major reason i like to patronize her. I would walk past two frozen food shops before getting to her own shop all because she has a way of making me feel comfortable. Aside from the fact that she dresses well, she still puts on aprons. Always clean!

The plan by President Tinubu to pay ₦8000 monthly to 12 million households as fuel subsidy removal palliatives is commendable. It gives a human face to the harsh economic necessity of petrol subsidy withdrawal. But to help our nation grow, I would suggest to the President that he ties the ₦8000 monthly payment to the condition that children in recipient families MUST attend school and have their payment vouchers signed by the principal/headmaster of their school proving that they attended school throughout that month, failure of which they will not be paid. That way, Nigeria will reduce her current population of 20 million out-of-school children. And it will have an immediate impact on our economy, as educated children tend to be healthier, less likely to engage in terrorism and criminality, and also less likely to be teenage parents. Furthermore, as a nation, we should not only give fish to people experiencing poverty. We should also teach willing Nigerians how to fish. I, therefore, recommend to the President that he may want to provide free training and business grants (not loans, but grants) to at least half a million Nigerian youths to enable them to start up verifiable small and medium-scale enterprises. Nigeria's situation is similar to that of the United States of the 1930s, and this was how President FDR Roosevelt empowered Americans through the New Deal. In that way, the President will help Nigerian youths to help themselves as well as to help Nigeria. Once again, good job, and kudos to the President. If he, however, does wrong, he should also expect knocks. #TableShaker
