The thing is that everybody is too hung up on surface level things. He doesn’t wear a lime green tuxedo and he’s more of a brooding serial killer, which certainly is a change, but the core of the character is there. He’s still an egotistical freak who gets off on his superiority.

I’ll never understand this. The Riddler in The Batman’s core thing is that he’s a grown toddler lashing out at the world and trying to prove he’s smarter than everyone. He laughs in the face of the public when they don’t solve his puzzles. He openly mocks Batman.

I guess Valiant is just doubling down on ai. I wonder if this is the result of that job posting for an ai employee two years ago. I suppose one comic publisher was gonna be the first to just shit on artists and go all-in on ai and it seems like Valiant is happy to be the one to do it.
