MY TRADING JOURNEY SO FAR I am Bishop, a Final Year medical student in Nigeria and I would be talking my journey so far in a few paragraphs. First off it hasn’t been a rosy journey up till this point but every step I took was worth it. Imagine breaching an account and having to go for an exam the next day. It’s crazy. So, I got to know about trading 3 years ago by a friend of my mum and she sponsored that class with a huge sum (which lasted only 2 weeks by the way). I later found out that all the stuff I paid for were just YouTube material 😂, and as much as it was annoying back then I still appreciate it because it’s what opened my eyes to the possibilities trading offered. Before then I was majorly into the Web3 niche ( hence my username currently) where Degen trading was quite popular. So I’d make some money from other gigs then lose it trenching on pump.fun. It was fun while it lasted honestly. Made a few flips here and there but that’s another story. After the physical onboarding, I had to do a lot of research ranging from YouTube which led me to Telegram and then to Twitter (X). I want to use this opportunity to shout out to those putting out educational content here. It helped me back then and I'm sure it still goes a long way today. I never had beginner’s luck so when I started investing real money after feeling like a god on demo accounts, I felt the impact of that heavily but despite that I never relented (the lifestyle on X wouldn’t even let me). I eventually paid for a couple of courses but the game changer was when I came across @The_4thMan on X who teaches (SLK – Structure, Liquidity and Key Levels). That was when I truly felt the difference. I again reached out to my mum who supported me once again and it has been up from there. I’m not saying it was easy. It wasn’t. I was once at a place of copying others setups and calling it mine, coupled with how cumbersome medical school can be but I knew I wanted this. I wanted a life where I was solely responsible for my breakfast in the long run, not one where I would be solely dependent on other factors before I can live comfortably and I knew trading would give me that. I learnt from @The_4thMan first, then came across @boiscofield who also taught SLK too. I wasn't strategy hopping and this time I paid myself with the money I had just gotten paid from a Web3 gig. These 2 mentors have shaped my trading in ways I never envisioned and I will always remain eternally grateful to them. Currently, things have gotten clearer but there’s the struggle with discipline which is a continuous work in progress because as my mentor @The_4thMan would say “many of you are good traders but you struggle with impulse”. I have seen the tip of the iceberg and I am not just going to taste of the spring, I will drink very deep as well. Thank you Mum, Thank you @The_4thMan , Thank you @boiscofield.
