I am known as a big supporter of Tesla and Elon, but I feel it is my duty to point out that he is currently losing a lot of support from customers and important current or potential future employees and talent in 🇪🇺 Europe because of how he expressed his political views and opinions. I am well aware that Elon does not allow himself to be influenced or disturbed by the public and their opinions, and I see that fundamentally and without ifs and buts as something positive. On the other hand, I firmly believe that confirmed facts and comprehensive information in this case from Europe are the basis of any meaningful conversation and discussion in particularly if we talk about democracy, antisemitism, matters of refugees, peace, and war. I believe and get the impression that Elon is not fully informed on certain topics about Europe and spontaneously makes a statement on X out of emotion that he would never have made if he had all the facts and information at hand. I have firsthand reports from people in Europe who because of that no longer support Elon and Tesla because of his retweet and responses yesterday about the radical right-wing AfD party in 🇩🇪 Germany because they support an inhuman and antidemocratic opinion they do not want to be associated with. Of course, it is absolutely right that everyone is allowed to have their own opinion and this of course includes Elon because this is naturally a part of free speech. However, for the last months, Elon is increasingly seen as a supporter of the autocratic, and war of aggression leading 🇷🇺 Russia and since yesterday also as a supporter of a right-wing radical German AfD party that in public questions democracy in Germany and openly expresses xenophobic and anti-Jewish inhuman views. The consequences of not supporting 🇺🇦 Ukraine with money and weapons to end the war and more blood-shell asap, is for the 🇺🇸 US and the world dramatically negative, as well as creating the impression of supporting a German Party that wants to get rid of Democracy and openly supports racism and antisemitism (AfD statement from Central Council of Jews). I know Elon as a humanistic and democratic person and I am convinced that the values of Putin and the AfD do not correspond to his but the impression in the public in Europe that they do is getting stronger. For Tesla and SpaceX this also means that important talents that lead both companies into the future will take distance from application so that the speed of innovation will not continue at the pace it could. For the current employees at Tesla in Europe, Elon's statements mean sadly a lot of stress in the family and circle of friends too, and not everyone can handle it in the long run therefore I would not be astounded if some leave. That may have a negative impact on Tesla as a business and its growth in Europe too. I don't expect any change from Elon but I think it's important and my duty to express my thoughts on the subject. @elonmusk $tsla
