@erinblasco I love these! I once took a call from a guy who told me he found a foot on the beach and asked if he came to the museum, could we identify it? I said no, but I bet your local police depart. might want to take a look. He assured me it was fossilized, so no need to bother them.

For me getting tested was not the hard part. I called my doctor as soon as I had symptoms and she referred me to the GW testing facility. This was on March 18 & it was early enough in the coronavirus situation that only three other people were in line before me.

Throughout this I think my biggest fear has been getting others infected. Thankfully I had been teleworking since March 12 & I've kept in touch with the people I saw socially up until that weekend and they haven't developed any symptoms. 🤞

Ambika inspired generations to care about Asian elephant conservation. For 59 yrs. she was an ambassador and pioneer, teaching us about behavior, biology, repro. and ecology. She changed the way we care for and conserve elephants. Thanks to her, we are able to save species.
