we have assessed the various carbon emission benefits of different options and concluded that the use of straw-based insulation offers the highest climate effectiveness compared to energy production.

Recent paper in @IOPPublishing advocates for urgent rethink of @EU_Commission policies which incentivize the use of #Straw in the #agricultural and #energy sectors while neglecting its greater benefit in the #Construction sector.

After considering the use of straw for animal bedding and soil regeneration, the remaining excess straw can be incorporated into the soil to temporarily store carbon, or used as a feedstock for straw ethanol or bioelectricity, or as an insulation material in buildings.
