@AdoreTheBrave28 one thing that is nice about the joe jonas barricade is that he actually picks someone/a group for the moment at barricade and ppl rarely intrude (the few times ppl did they were called out). not saying that louis should do that but they're not exactly the same situation

I don’t understand how Yungblud, Joe Jonas, and Justin Bieber can go to the barricade and lean into the fans without getting mauled but Louis does it and his clothes get ripped off and fans trample each other. Like how and why and what’s the difference and can we be calmer please

@tweepla @TheOne_2014 @Ticketmaster @HT28LS @Harry_Styles Here's a definition of scalping, which has a completely different definition than dynamic pricing. Both are wrong and annoying, but they are two completely different terms and are executed by different parties. It's pedantic but they're not the same

@habitfences @TheOne_2014 @Ticketmaster @HT28LS @Harry_Styles that actually IS the definition of scalping. That’s what dynamic pricing is. You take the price of a ticket and adjusted upwards for demand. In this instance, Ticketmaster is upset that a third party got the bulk of the profit for scalping instead of themselves.

@TheOne_2014 @HT28LS I used to work for an firm that did work against TM, Viagogo etc so I don't always agree with that account. The secondary resale market is insane. I know for sure TM plays some role in it, but based my work I did I don't think there's the level of collusion that account implies

@TheOne_2014 @Ticketmaster @HT28LS @Harry_Styles Again, I don't disagree with you, don't like TM, and I follow that account. I was just saying if you want to argue with a behemoth like them, your arguments need to be very tight and precise, otherwise the industry will brush it off it as an emotional fan not understanding facts

@raemeiddam @Ticketmaster @hsdaily @Harry_Styles "Getting screwed over" for something you voluntarily purchase is an interesting way to put it. And I say this as someone who has spent $10k+ each year on concerts/accom/travel for Harry + others. TM, Harry & Harry's team set the fv price so obvi TM isn't going to change it now

@Ticketmaster @hsdaily @Harry_Styles I’m sorry what. So if I paid 885 dollars for a singular ticket am I able to get refunded the difference??? That’s insane considering it was PRESALE tickets FROM TICKETMASTER. We should get compensated too for getting screwed over?

@TheOne_2014 @Ticketmaster @HT28LS @Harry_Styles Since they don't mention Harry's shows being unaffordable, they aren't blaming scalpers for this. They ARE discussing how scalpers keep tickets out of the hands of fans, which is factually true, and the steps they are taking to stop it.

@TheOne_2014 @Ticketmaster @HT28LS @Harry_Styles (thread) I'll start with I don't disagree with you that Harry's prices were high and I don't like TM, but in this specific instance, TM are not blaming scalpers for high prices - nowhere in theses posts do they mention Harry's shows being unaffordable (obvious why they wouldnt).

@TheOne_2014 @Ticketmaster @HT28LS @Harry_Styles Artists and their teams collaborate with Ticketmaster to set the prices for their show. Even if you disagree with the $800-$1k prices for lower level seats, that's the retail value agreed upon by Harry's team and ticketmaster, so by definition they are not "scalping".

@ambernhp2014 @jbeezley107 @stefspeaksports Yeah.... this happens in MLB too.... having knowledge of both industries - this was 100% a risk that Florence's booker took and lost. I can guarantee this is 100% on them and that this was a stipulation in the booking contract.

@0LDB0UL @Ariannnyy_ i know companies like checkr are relatively new compared to like hireright which is usually the process you're discussing. But tbh I think all this data has been tracked for ages just depends on the job/industry/location that are doing more extensive and thorough verification

@jbeezley107 @stefspeaksports So you’re being purposely obtuse then. All fans deserve better. The very simple solution again is not to make contracts for those dates. Just because someone CAN do something doesn’t mean they should. This only happens with NHL or NBA. The MLB stadiums never have these issues.

@YasharalaR @StraightCashKJ @Ariannnyy_ My team hired a director 3 months ago and our CPO ran a background check thru checkr which pulled 30+ years of work history including jobs from before I was born. I can literally see this report. Just bc u don't experience things doesn't mean it doesn't happen lol

@habitfences @StraightCashKJ @Ariannnyy_ Not true. And nobody is checking employment history like that. Y’all have been served a load of bullcrap and don’t know it. It’s clear who doesn’t know what the hiring process entails

@Micahissiah @Ariannnyy_ Even if outsourcing (in my company Checkr is the company this work is outsourced to) it CAN still be that deep and the information is still available. Your SSN and work number have a lot of information readily tied to it that can be pulled in these background checks

@habitfences @Ariannnyy_ "Trusted employment databases" = Credit bureuas, Adp, and Workday. Microsoft and Apple have the money to do extensive in house background checks, but if your employer is outsourcing, it's not going to be that deep.

@YasharalaR @StraightCashKJ @Ariannnyy_ You're thinking too literally - its not a manual process. Digital records exist in databases maintained by organisations that own this data, even if the original company no longer exists. An employee's SSN remains tied to those records for verification even years later

@shockaslim @Ariannnyy_ There are different types of background checks companies does. Your experience would fall under the criminal history check. Your company may not have done that but still could do the employment history verification since they're separate services.

@jsin215 most non-office, labour/service industry jobs don't do thorough employment verification. On the other hand, background checks for employment/education verification are very common in most corporate/office settings or specialised functions/fields like govt, education, tech, etc
