Many adolescents, especially in remote areas, avoid seeking sexual and reproductive health services due to fear of judgment or lack of privacy. Adolescent-friendly services matter create safe spaces where adolescents can ask questions, learn, and receive care without fear.

Ministry of Health- Uganda@MinofHealthUG·
This morning, the Ministry of Health and OPAL Health convened an inception meeting to align on a strategic partnership aimed at integrating a community-led Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approach into Uganda’s national health framework. The engagement provided an opportunity to affirm shared priorities in strengthening maternal and newborn health through approaches that empower communities, enhance social accountability, and complement existing health systems. Discussions emphasized alignment with national strategies, the importance of community-driven solutions, and the role of data and digital systems in informing responsive and effective programming. The meeting underscored the value of PLA as a force multiplier in improving health outcomes by fostering local ownership, strengthening linkages between communities and the health system, and promoting sustainable change. There was a shared commitment to evidence-driven implementation, continuous learning, and coordinated efforts to ensure that the approach contributes meaningfully to national health goals. This engagement marks an important step in advancing innovative, community-centered solutions within Uganda’s broader health agenda. #MOHatWork
