@esrtweet @hackaday I still got to use monochrome CRTs in the 80s in my first computing steps, and the first one I had was green. The first amber CRTs I saw on IBM PCs, but it was a brief period before CGA and VGA took over.

We'd love to see a PhD thesis on why green-on-black terminals are more "cinematic" or "hacker" than amber, which was well represented in the actual technology used in past eras.
